2017 Spring Trip Schedule

January 18 – March 1st – WISP Weekday Ski Shuttle

Tuesday & Wednesday (one day every other week) at 3:30p we will take a van to WISP. There will be 10 spots available. Dates: Jan. 18, 24. Feb. 1,7, 15, 21st & March 1. Sign up early to reserve your spot. $30 pays for the shuttle and lift ticket

January 21 & Feb 12 – Cross Country Ski Day Trip

For this XC Ski Seminar, you will be provided gear, learn basic skills and check out some local trails. Medium physical difficulty; beginner skill level Cost $30.

January 29 (College Park Group) & Feb. 26 – Downhill Ski Day Trip

We will provide a lift ticket and transportation to Canaan Valley Ski Resort ($45). Add ski or snowboard rental for $10. Medium physical difficulty; beginner skill level Cost $45 or $55.

February 11 – Coopers Rock Winter Festival

The ORC will have xc skis and snowshoes to borrow as well as an introductory seminar on how to use the gear. Check out the festival and try out skiing on Coopers Rock trails. 11am to 3pm.

April 1 – Aerial Adventure: Giant Swing and Alpine Tower.

Experience two unique aerial trekking activities with friends in the university forest. Climb and swing upwards to 45 feet in the air. The experience lasts 4 hours and includes transportation from the SRC. No experience is necessary with these high adventure activities. Medium physical difficulty; beginner skill level Cost $15..

April 2, 8, 22, & 29 – Whitewater Day Trip

Learn the basics of inflatable kayaking or rafting and experience one of these great local rivers. Cheat Narrows or the Dry Fork are class III rivers. Medium physical difficulty; beginner skill level Cost $55.

April 8 – Odyssey Escape

Go trekking with friends across our double decked challenge course facility! Complete tasks while at height (35 and 50 feet above the ground) and work to complete up to 8 different scenarios with your group. The experience lasts 4 hours and includes transportation to and from the SRC. No experience is necessary with this high adventure activity. Medium-difficult physical difficulty; beginner skill level Cost $20.

April 9, 23 – Aerial Adventure: Zip Line.

Go zip-lining on the only course owned and operated by a university! The tour lasts 4 hours and includes transportation to and from the SRC. Bring a friend and experience 7 platforms, 4 zip-lines, a sky bridge, a sky ladder and a 45 foot rappel. Zip speeds reach 30 mph. Low physical difficulty; beginner skill level Cost $30.

April 22/23 – Backpack Dolly Sods

This Wilderness area includes sweeping high mountain views, waterfalls and majestic forests. Medium physical difficulty. Beginner skill level. Cost $50.

April 23 – Climbing Day Trip Try your hand at climbing the grit stone at Coopers Rock State Forest. Medium physical difficulty. Beginner skill level. Cost $30.
April 22/23 -Ladies Backpack Trip

This trip is just for the ladies and is intended to offer women from all walks of life the opportunity to gather together and enjoy time outdoors. This trip will offer women a safe space to have conversations about what it means to be strong and healthy, not just physically, but holistically. To reflect on what it looks like to walk through life authentically. If you are interested in spending time in a majestic forest while having some open and honest conversation, then this trip is for you! We will backpack and move our bodies, but the trip will have a more relaxed and retreat-like feel. If you have questions or want to learn more, contact Marcedes.Minana@mail.wvu.edu.
